| UPDATE, they are away and having fun, see the Members Articles section for trip reports as they come in.... 1. A window of May 26th to June 10th inclusive allows us to miss the SAC AGM on the 24th May. In addition, the temperatures at that time are expected to be in the pleasant mid-20's rather than the roasting high 30's of July and August. 2. The outline route would take us from Perth to the Channel coast with the option of either a short (Dover-ish) or a longer (Southampton-ish) crossing, linking up again somewhere in Brittany. The west coast of France offers loads of options for interesting flying and stop-overs, followed by a similar tracking around the west coast of Spain and Portugal. We plan to include a visit to Gibraltar in the itinerary. To avoid the major mountainous regions of Spain we propose to track up the Mediterranean coast to the French border and then northwards, perhaps on a more central routing through France and onwards to Perth. This was set out in a very tempting manner by Keith in his recent presentation, which I understand he may be repeating. Don't miss it, even if you don't intend to go on the trip. 3. The above is an outline which will be refined further when we have a clearer idea of who will be going. 4. The object of this note is to identify those people with and interest and to start the ball rolling as we are barely four months away from the proposed start date! All I need right now, is an indication your interest in going. I am not looking for commitment, that comes later ! 5. If you have such an interest, would you please provide the following information by return to the Club Secretary. Name/contact number Are you an aircraft owner/operator?If so, what type ? Would you wish to offer a spare seat to a fellow club-member ? Are you interested in joining trip as a passenger ? |
