Presentation by astronaught Colonel Alvin Drew
Export
It is unusual for the Scottish Aeroclub to have a presentation this time of year. Some things are usually reserved for the long winter evenings. We would have liked to give more notice, however travel constraints and commitments have necessitated we wait until we could be sure this would happen.

On the evening of Friday 6th July astronaut Colonel Alvin Drew has agreed to give a presentation to Scottish Aero Club members and their guests on his last space mission and NASA's proposed forthcoming Mars mission.

Alvin has spent more time outside the earth's atmosphere than many of us have spent flying. His extensive knowledge of space technology and the barriers we face in extending our reach is awe inspiring and fascinating in the extreme. As you would expect he is a skilled communicator and seriously gifted pilot, having flown high performance fighters for the USAF.

This will be his last engagement before returning to Houston. We are honoured and amazed he has agreed to speak with us.

Be there for 7:00 if you can. Food will be served after his presentation for those of you denied sustenance; having struck out for Scone before tea!
