The SAC currently has around 350 members (of whom, ~50 are students). On this page you'll find all the services provided to members of the SAC.

You can apply for membership and pay via PayPal by filling in this online form. The various types of membership available are shown below.

clubhouse

Hangar and clubouse
A clubhouse of palatial splendour and size is available for members and their guests. Weather briefing and flight planning information is available as well as a kettle and a well-stocked snack cupboard.

We organise flying events during the flying season, a series of talks during the winter months and social events all year round. Consult our events diary to see what's planned. Reports and photographs from past events can be found in our archive.
merchandise/pilot supplies
We have a small, but well stocked shop which offers a range of branded club items as well as pilots supplies such as charts, etc.
spare-a-seat service
Do you have a spare seat for a trip your making or for a flyout? Do you want to share the cost of your flying? If so you can offer seats on the spare-a-seat section of our club forum.
aircraft rental
A fleet of aircraft are available for rental by members. On-line book systems for club aircraft (coming soon!)
hangarage
Members can take advantage of our hangarage rates. Scottish Aero Club leases the main hangar at Perth Airfield and
hangarage is available to Club members at a monthly rate of £1.80 per square metre per month, payable quarterly in advance.
Temporary hangarage is also available from a minimum of £10 per day dependent on size.
All aircraft operating at Perth must be radio-equipped, and covered by third-party insurance of £500,000 minimum.
A routine check of aircraft and pilot documentation will be required.

landing fees
Unlimited landings are now included in the hangarage charges.
out of hours permit
It is possible to take-off and land at Perth outside its operational hours provided you hold a valid "out-of-hours" permit. This can be obtained on application to the radio room 01738 551631
, subject to a minimum third-party insurance of £1,000,000.
avbrief
Club members can take advantage of reduced prices for annual subscriptions to avbrief, the online weather and briefing service. Contact the club chairman (chairman@scotishaeroclub.org.uk) for details.
club house access
If you intend using the clubhouse outwith normal operating hours, members can become a keyholder for a £10 deposit.
workshop
A well-equipped workshop is available for members who pay £10pa for a key which will be given AFTER a briefing.
internet access
The clubhouse has its own wireless hotspot.
