Thanks to those who attended the last meeting on Thursday March 20th, and to all the rest of the keen volunteers who have swung into action in support of SAC’s Open Day at Perth Airport for SCAA.

This bulletin is to provide a brief update and includes a couple of very amateurish maps:
  • The first one illustrates the adjusted airside / crowd line boundary and the location of various stations including announcer’s platforms, public flight staging area, SCAA demo area, kiddie’s corner, loos and food areas.
  • The second one indicates location of 6 parking areas in orange.
Visiting pilots will check in at the Tower, all other visitors will enter at the Touchdown Café location.  SCAA will take donations at both of these locations, and also sell tickets for an draw.

Elaine Whitehead is organising a Tombola which will operate all Sunday afternoon

Auction and Tombola offerings will still be gratefully received at either SAC or SCAA offices

We need volunteers as follows:
From Now until the weekend:
  • Distribute posters in your neighbourhood locations
  • Attract people to the airport on Sunday
  • Secure additional auction & tombola offerings
Friday at 16:00 – 19:00 helping with several tasks
  • Fence erection
  • Set up tables and chairs
Sunday morning and afternoon
  • Distribute refuse barrels
  • SAC members – host Hangar tours

Sunday after 17:00 we need to take down fencing, collect refuse barrels, etc.

At this stage weather outlook is dry, if a bit cool -  hopefully that will hold and we will have a great turnout and a superb afternoon for SCAA at the airport.
The support of all concerned is greatly appreciated by SCAA.

Many thanks

Dave McElroy
