“It’s that time of year again! Come and join fellow flyers and their significant others as the Scottish Aero Club’s glittering equivalent of the Oscars takes place, at the Royal George Hotel, Perth. There will be great food and prizes galore with this black tie event getting underway at 7.00 for 7.30. Don’t forget that we’re also seeking self-nominations for a number of awards including: most memorable flight; most airfields visited; furthest distance travelled; and best aviation related photograph!”
The SAC are delighted to be joined by Paul Aspin – an instantly recognisable voice from Scottish Information – to tell us about the service they provide and why we may want to use it more. A great opportunity to learn more about something many of us take for granted or to be re-assured that these guys only want to help and encourage others to give them a call! Drinks and nibbles to follow as always.
Heartstart Discovery courses :
Heartstart Discovery is running a two-hour training sessions in emergency life support.
Being able to perform emergency life support, a set of actions needed to keep someone alive until professional help arrives, gives a casualty the best possible chance of survival.
Courses are free-of-charge and no medical knowledge is required in order to undertake one. It only takes two hours to learn the skills which may save a life and it is very likely that the person you help may be a family member or someone close to you.
The sessions cover:
• caring for an unconscious person who is breathing
• caring for an unconscious person who is not breathing and performing CPR
• how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and how to deal with it
• helping someone who is choking
• helping someone who is bleeding badly
• Content can be tailored to match our requirements.
