Our yearly events start off with Winter Talks in the Club House. Further events will be added as and when they are arranged or, in the case of events and fly-ins arranged by other clubs, when we hear about them so please keep checking back for more information.
Thursday 15th January 7pm - Tim Rayner Building a 1915 High Performance fighting aircraft The Sopwith 1½ Strutter
Ever wondered what it might take to build a 1915 design aircraft using the original drawings? Well, it took a group of dedicated pensioners 25 years to bring the magnificent beast in the photograph above into being, but they did it!
Come along and hear a fascinating account from Tim about how the Aviation Preservations Society of Scotland hand-built this iconic aircraft and why it’s called a one and half strutter.
Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be served after the talk
